An arctic ridge of high pressure will persist over the BC Interior and Yukon for the next several days with the arctic front remaining offshore. The only weather maker is a developing low pressure system that is forecast to move southward off Vancouver Island today.
Some light snow is expected over Vancouver Island as the low passes by. The outflow winds through the coastal valleys and inlets will then become very strong overnight and Friday as the arctic air deepens in the interior. Meanwhile, an upper warm front approaching from Alaska will spread cloud into White Pass Friday morning.
