ARCTIC AIR WILL REACH THE SOUTHERN INTERIOR BY MONDAY.

DISCUSSION

MAJOR CHANGE IN THE WEATHER PATTERN WILL BEGIN SUNDAY AS A MOIST PACIFIC FRONT IS FOLLOWED BY ARCTIC AIR RESULTING IN SIGNIFICANT COOLING.

THE PACIFIC FRONT MOVING THROUGH THE CENTRAL INTERIOR TONIGHT WILL SWEEP ACROSS THE SOUTH ON SUNDAY. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL FALL RAPIDLY IN THE WAKE OF THIS SYSTEM SUNDAY NIGHT. RAIN AT LOWER ELEVATIONS AHEAD OF THE FRONT WILL TRANSITION TO SNOW AS THE FRONT PASSES THROUGH AND TEMPERATURES DROP. LOCAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE LIKELY.

THE ARCTIC FRONT WILL PUSH THROUGH THE CENTRAL INTERIOR SUNDAY NIGHT BRINGING GUSTY WINDS AND LOCAL BLOWING SNOW. COLDER AIR WILL REACH THE SOUTHERN INTERIOR MONDAY AFTERNOON. BY TUESDAY THE ARCTIC AIR WILL SETTLE ACROSS THE REGION AND REMAIN THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEK.
